WELCOME TO SPIA’S WEBSITE

SPIA, Soldiers of Peace International Association, as a representative of all SPIA members and Peacekeepers, SPIA organizes and attends national and international events .
  • SPIA-Mines just launched a Mine Risk Education and Victim Assistance Project in cooperation with a local partner. Read further details in our Victim Assistance and Angola sections.

  • SPIA joins the Cluster Munition Coalition to fight the plague of cluster bombs, helps the victims and raises the awareness among the public and government about humanitarian consequences of such weaponry. See further details in our "clusters" section.

  • On February 26 – 27th 2006, SPIA organized an awareness session on the consequences of all types of mines and explosive remnants of war (such as cluster bombs) during a commando operation involving the French Army. Read further details in our Advocacy Section.

  • SPIA resumed the project “Build a school” after SPIA’s delegation went on a field trip in August 2005. The project comprised a renovation of the existent premises; built in 1995 by SPIA’s volunteers, and the construction of additional classrooms and a playground for collective games, and provided furniture and school materials. Please take a look at the project in Humanitarian Development - Cambodia.

Since early 2010, SPIA is also a member of the Coalition French for the International Criminal Court
